Full Brief:

The Company is a research-based bio-pharmaceutical company that identifies, develops and produces for sale innovative medicines in areas of unmet medical need. With each new discovery and investigational drug candidate, we seek to improve the care of patients living with life-threatening diseases around the world. The Company’s therapeutic areas of focus include HIV/AIDS, liver diseases, cancer and inflammation, and serious respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.

The Company’s IT is building resources within the IT Infrastructure services team to support the significant growth of the Company’s organization and is looking for rock-solid, world-class technology engineer who is ready to tackle the challenges and aligned IT strategically with the Company’s Facility and Engineering groups to plan and implement technology solutions around the IT infrastructure services and Facility build outs that will enable our business for years to come. The Technology Engineering Manager will work closely with the Facilities team in planning and execution of approved ‘road map’ projects, and will lead multiple projects from inception of business idea to business case development and approval, and hand-off to Project Management Office (PMO), acting as delivery lead while project are being executed by PMO to insure on-time, on-budget completion in compliance with the Company’s standards including validation, commissioning and qualification, along with PMO compliance requirements.

The Technology Engineering Manager will work closely with the Company’s Network and Server/Storage teams to partner with the Facility and Engineering group in the development of planning of new administrative, lab, and manufacturing sites globally.

Business Partnership
Develop effective and broad trusted strategic relationships with key business partners (Facilities and Engineering) and users on the basis of strong communication skills and credibility and expertise in matters related to IT infrastructure services to bring solutions to business partners in a collaborative environments

Strategic Planning
The Technology Engineering Manager must possess strong communication skills and must be savvy working with both technology and business partners across the organization in a collaborative way.
The Technology Engineering Manager will have a strong understanding of network and server/storage topology, along with an understanding of facilities related projects to provide network solutions for any given project.
The Technology Engineering Manager will prepare project team and steering committee materials (business cases and project assessments) related to their assigned region.
The Technology Engineering Manager will also ensure project work complies with established practices, policies, and processes.

Risk Mitigation Planning
The Technology Engineering Manager must be able to work with the project management team to identify issues and risks and work with and support team to develop solutions to resolve issues in the development and deployment of network services within the Company’s Enterprise of locations
The Technology Engineering Manager as delivery lead will confirm that all processes, including architectural reviews, gate reviews, knowledge transition and change controls are followed in compliance with Company approved process and that validation, commissioning and qualification documentation is followed in line with IT infrastructure deployments.

Business Continuity
Provide responsive leadership and guidance in the coordination and communication of IT infrastructure activities and status back to senior management.
Ensure alignment of IT planning with business objectives.
Ensure the effective monitoring, tracking and reporting of the approved “ITAC road map” projects with business
partners to ensure the execution of projects on time and budget.
The role will additionally act as delivery lead and focus on managing system and application support following deployment and production environments. This will involve being able to coordinate and direct vendors in support of said systems and applications.

General Leadership and Management
The Technology Engineering must be comfortable with ambiguity and have a strong ability to bring order and discipline to projects that engage many stakeholders and delivery partners.
The role will focus on managing the roadmap of projects that will enhance the capabilities of our data ecosystem, with focus on network facilities build-outs for the specific region assigned.
Experience in working in network and facilities environments and the ability to work with applications such as Microsoft Suite of applications, Oracle, and Clarity are vital.
Ensure effective leadership, teamwork and collaboration with Business partners and other IT leaders, managers and staff across IT to achieve a high level of success in delivering of ITAC approved road map projects
Lead continuous improvements to drive more efficient processes and standards within IT Infrastructure and the business users IT supports

Solid management experience with functional and technical aspects of IT network infrastructure. Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience strongly preferred
The Technology Engineering will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of IT functions and services. Will possesses familiarity with many technologies, with particular focus on their capabilities and limitations.
Subject matter expertise in one or more aspects of network infrastructure and understanding of Facilities planning and build outs.
Experience with development of project budget plan exercises (road map and business cases).
Knowledge and understanding of general computer controls, IT process management (i.e., ITIL) including incident, problem, change and release management.
Strong business, technology and facilities acumen; solid understanding of IT platforms and related services centered around network infrastructure as it relates to facilities build outs.
Strong skills/experience in implementing information technology policies, procedures and practices in regulated computing environments
Strong understanding of Facility related activity and relationship of network infrastructure activity in project.
Strong organization, planning, and program/project management skills
Self-motivated, proactive, independent and responsive
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, presentation, facilitation and diplomacy skills
High level of personal integrity consistent with the Company’s core values

Typical candidates will possess strong experience and BS in Computer Science or related fields (or international equivalent), information systems management, finance or accounting.
Certification highly desired in Cisco Network environment, server and storage system platforms
